It's all swings and roundabouts. Allison and Lorraine used to babysit us when we were kids. I used to babysit David's first kid, which was more a matter of just being in the house whilst the little one slept. It was a really easy gig. The trip to Scotland in 2003 was probably the first time I had spent time with these family members properly as an adult. Luke and I probably wouldn't have had the chance to meet up with any of them had it not been for the circumstances that brought the family together. I was very grateful that everyone made both of us feel so welcome. My youngest sister, Michelle's 18th birthday co-incided with Muriel's 60th. Luke and I were invited to Muriel's party, in part to entertain the kids. I did a magic show which seemed to go down well. Unfortunately, by the time I'd finished, Luke had helped Joe finish his Chivas Regal, so I didn't get any. After David impressed Luke with his fine baritone rendition of Fields Of Athan Rye, Luke was sufficiently lubricated with Joe's best whisky to terrify the assembled guests with a hakka. I felt bad that I didn't end up having the opportunity to fix Muriel up with a modem, and get her PC online. However, since then she has joined the cyber-enabled of her own accord, and how has email.
